Windward School

Windward School is a distinguished coeducational independent secondary school located in the Mar Vista neighborhood of Los Angeles, founded in 1971. Serving approximately 620 students in Grades 7 through 12, Windward has built a remarkable reputation for combining genuine academic rigor with an inclusive, supportive community culture that helps every student thrive. The school's college-preparatory curriculum includes extensive Advanced Placement offerings and is complemented by outstanding programs in the performing and visual arts, athletics, and community service. The school's Center for Courage & Renewal supports students' social-emotional development alongside their academic growth. Windward is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS).
