Washington International School

Washington International School (WIS), founded in 1966, is one of the world's leading IB World Schools and a flagship institution in the international education community. Located in the Embassy Row neighbourhood of Washington, DC, WIS serves approximately 900 students from over 90 nationalities in Nursery through Grade 12. The school offers the full IB continuum — PYP, MYP, and Diploma — alongside English, French, and Spanish language tracks, making it a natural home for diplomats, international organisation staff, and globally mobile families. WIS is accredited by the Middle States Association, the Council of International Schools (CIS), and is a member of the European Council of International Schools (ECIS). Graduates earn IB Diplomas and are admitted to leading universities on every continent. The school's location in Washington's diplomatic corridor, its diverse community, and its commitment to global citizenship make it one of the most internationally oriented schools in the United States.
