UWC Mostar

Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina

UWC Mostar is one of 18 United World Colleges worldwide and the only UWC in the Western Balkans, established in 2006 in the historic city of Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Located at Španski Trg, the college offers a two-year International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme to students aged 16 to 19, selected from over 100 countries through national UWC committees based on merit and potential rather than financial means. UWC Mostar's mission is uniquely tied to Mostar's post-war context: using education as a force to unite people, nations, and cultures for peace and a sustainable future. The college brings together Bosnian students from both sides of the city's ethnic divide alongside international peers, creating a powerful model for reconciliation through shared living and learning. Boarding facilities accommodate the full student body. Students engage in an intensive IB academic program complemented by creativity, activity, service (CAS) projects, community engagement, and intercultural dialogue. UWC Mostar graduates are accepted at leading universities worldwide, often with scholarships. Age range: 16–19.
