Turku International School

Turku International School (TIS) is a municipal comprehensive school in the city of Turku, Finland's oldest city and former capital, providing English-medium basic education for students in Grades 1–9. The school primarily serves internationally mobile families and foreign-born residents of the Turku region who require an English-language educational setting. TIS follows the Finnish National Core Curriculum with English as the main language of instruction, ensuring students receive a world-class Finnish education in an international context. The school is administered by the City of Turku and is intended for families where English is the language of the home or where continuous relocation makes an English-medium school necessary. Students benefit from small class sizes, dedicated teachers, and Turku's vibrant cultural and historical environment. TIS prepares students effectively for international secondary schools and Finnish upper secondary education.
