Trinity International School Kamimaezu
Nagoya, Japan
Trinity International School (TIS) Kamimaezu Campus is a pioneering bilingual school in central Nagoya, recognized as the first international school in the city to emphasize both English and Japanese equally. Located in Naka Ward, the Kamimaezu campus offers programs for toddlers from 18 months through elementary school Grade 6, approximately 12 years of age. Trinity's educational philosophy centers on developing truly bilingual children who can communicate fluently and confidently in both English and Japanese. The school's curriculum combines phonics-based English instruction with Japanese language learning, critical thinking development, and social-emotional growth. In addition to its daytime programs, TIS offers after-school English conversation classes and Saturday enrichment programs for students who attend Japanese schools. Trinity International School has two Nagoya campuses—Kamimaezu in Naka Ward and Kamiotai in Nishi Ward—serving families across the city. The school attracts both expatriate families and Japanese families who want their children to grow up genuinely bilingual in an internationally minded, caring community.
