The Potomac School

The Potomac School, founded in 1904, is one of the Washington DC area's most prestigious independent co-educational day schools, situated on a 90-acre campus in McLean, Virginia. The school serves approximately 1,000 students from Pre-K through Grade 12 and is accredited by the Virginia Association of Independent Schools (VAIS) and the Middle States Association. Potomac offers an exceptional college-preparatory programme with over 20 AP courses, distinguished arts and athletics programmes, and a strong emphasis on ethical leadership and community service. McLean's proximity to Washington's diplomatic, intelligence, and government communities means Potomac's student body regularly includes the children of ambassadors, senators, and senior officials. Graduates consistently attend Ivy League and highly selective universities. The school's beautiful wooded campus, dedicated faculty, and strong alumni network make it a cornerstone of Northern Virginia's private school landscape.
