Sylhet Cadet College

Sylhet Cadet College is one of Bangladesh's twelve cadet colleges, part of the nationally prestigious cadet college system modelled on the military boarding school tradition. Located in Sylhet — Bangladesh's tea capital and the ancestral homeland of a large segment of the British Bangladeshi diaspora — the college offers SSC and HSC programmes following the Bangladesh national curriculum for male boarding students aged 13–19. Like all Bangladeshi cadet colleges, Sylhet Cadet College combines military-style discipline, rigorous academic preparation, and comprehensive co-curricular development to produce graduates ready for leadership in the armed forces, civil service, and professions. The college's residential environment features dormitories, dining facilities, science laboratories, a library, computer labs, sports fields, a swimming pool, and a mosque. Cadet colleges enjoy an exceptional reputation in Bangladesh for academic quality and discipline, with admission being highly competitive nationally. Sylhet Cadet College benefits from Sylhet's prosperous community, with significant remittance income from the British Bangladeshi diaspora supporting educational aspirations. Graduates regularly join Bangladesh's armed forces officer corps and leading civilian professions.
