Scholengemeenschap Bonaire

Kralendijk, Bonaire

Scholengemeenschap Bonaire (SGB) is the main secondary school community on Bonaire, a special municipality of the Netherlands in the Dutch Caribbean. Located in Kralendijk, the capital of Bonaire, SGB offers Dutch secondary education tracks including VMBO (pre-vocational), HAVO (higher general), and VWO (pre-university), following the Dutch national curriculum under the supervision of the Netherlands Ministry of Education. Bonaire became a special municipality of the Netherlands in 2010, and its educational system is therefore directly aligned with Dutch standards. SGB serves students aged approximately 12–18 from across Bonaire's multicultural population, which includes Dutch nationals, Papiamento-speaking locals, and international residents. The school prepares graduates for higher education in the Netherlands, Curaçao, Aruba, and internationally. Bonaire's unique natural beauty — known worldwide for its diving — creates a memorable backdrop for SGB students' secondary years on this Dutch Caribbean island.
