Reykjavik International School

Reykjavik International School (RIS) is Iceland's premier English-medium international school, founded in 1994 to serve the growing international community in Iceland's capital. The school offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme and Middle Years Programme for students aged 5 to 16, with a curriculum designed to develop internationally minded, inquiring learners. Located in the Breiðholt district of Reykjavik, RIS welcomes students from over 40 nationalities, primarily children of diplomats, executives, and professionals at international companies and organisations operating in Iceland. The school maintains small class sizes to ensure personalised attention and a supportive learning environment. Facilities include modern classrooms, a computer lab, library resources, and access to Iceland's spectacular natural environment for outdoor education programmes. RIS is a member of the Council of International Schools and follows rigorous international educational standards.
