Orchlon International School
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia
Orchlon International School (OIS) is a pioneering non-profit, private, co-educational college-preparatory day school established in 2001 in Khan-Uul District, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. The school serves approximately 2,000 students from Kindergarten through Grade 12 and was among the first institutions in Mongolia to adopt internationally benchmarked academic programmes. In July 2008, Orchlon became the first school in Mongolia to fully implement the Cambridge Pathway across all age groups. OIS offers the full Cambridge Pathway including the International Primary Programme (Grades 1–5), Lower Secondary Programme (Grades 6–8), IGCSE (Grades 9–10), and Cambridge AS and A Levels (Grades 11–12). Instruction is delivered in both English and Mongolian, making OIS a bilingual institution with a strong international orientation. In 2007, the Ministry of Education and Science of Mongolia recognised Orchlon as the 'Best Secondary School of Mongolia'. The school is widely regarded as a pioneer of international education in Mongolia, with graduates regularly attending universities in the US, UK, Australia, Singapore, and China.
