NIS Astana (Nazarbayev Intellectual School)

Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools (NIS) are Kazakhstan's elite state school network, established by former President Nursultan Nazarbayev to create a new generation of internationally educated Kazakhstani leaders. NIS schools offer the IB Diploma Programme and Cambridge qualifications, taught partly in English, Kazakh, and Russian. The network spans multiple Kazakhstani cities and selects students based on competitive examinations. NIS graduates are among Kazakhstan's most sought-after university applicants worldwide.
