Montserrat Secondary School

Montserrat Secondary School is the sole secondary school on the island of Montserrat, a British Overseas Territory in the Leeward Islands. Located in Brades — the de facto capital of Montserrat following the 1995 volcanic eruption that destroyed the original capital Plymouth — the school serves all secondary-age students on the island, ages approximately 11–18. Following the CXC CSEC and CAPE curriculum, Montserrat Secondary School prepares students for Caribbean regional examinations despite the significant challenges posed by Montserrat's small size and the ongoing volcanic activity in the island's southern exclusion zone. The school has shown remarkable resilience, continuing to provide quality education to Montserrat's youth through a period of extraordinary difficulty. Teachers and students maintain strong academic standards, and many graduates go on to higher education in the United Kingdom, Antigua, Barbados, and elsewhere in the Caribbean.
