The school offers Sri Lanka national O-Level and A-Level programmes from Primary through Sixth Form for male students in this historic coastal city. Negombo's strong Catholic heritage — the city's annual Passion Play is one of the largest Catholic celebrations in South Asia — creates a supportive community for Catholic mission education. Maris Stella College has produced many of Negombo and Western Province's most distinguished professionals, politicians, sportspeople, and clergy. The school is known for academic excellence, strong cricket and rugby traditions, and an active co-curricular programme. Facilities include science laboratories, a library, sports grounds, a chapel, and computer facilities. Maris Stella College alumni form a tight-knit network across Negombo and the wider Sri Lankan Catholic community. The school contributes significantly to Negombo's educational ecosystem, which serves a large fishing, tourism, and export processing zone community. Graduates regularly gain admission to Sri Lanka's leading universities and professional programmes.
