Lycée Descartes Rabat

Lycée Descartes is Rabat's principal French international school, operating under the AEFE (Agence pour l'Enseignement Français à l'Étranger) framework and belonging to the French Mission network in Morocco. Located in the Souissi diplomatic district, the school serves the French diplomatic community posted to Morocco's administrative capital, along with French business families, Moroccan-French families, and francophone students from across Africa and Europe. The school delivers the complete French national curriculum from maternelle (nursery) through terminale (Year 13), culminating in the French Baccalauréat. As part of the AEFE network — the world's largest provider of French international education with over 500 schools in 139 countries — the Lycée Descartes provides complete curriculum continuity for French families relocating between international postings worldwide. Instruction is primarily in French, with Arabic and English language programmes supporting multilingual development. The school's Souissi location positions it within walking distance of the French Embassy, the American Embassy, and numerous other diplomatic missions. Lycée Descartes is one of Morocco's most respected French schools, educating the children of Morocco's diplomatic and French-speaking professional community for decades.
