Gwangju, South Korea

Kwangju Foreign School (KFS) is an international K-12 school located in Oryong-dong, Buk-gu, Gwangju, South Korea. Founded in 1999 in response to city officials needing an international school to attract foreign business investment, KFS has become a cornerstone of Gwangju international community. The school offers an American curriculum aligned with U.S. standards, providing English-medium instruction from Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12. Accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), KFS is committed to academic excellence and holistic student development. With small class sizes and experienced international faculty, the school ensures individualized attention for each student. KFS is a founding member of the South Korean Athletic Conference (SKAC), competing with other regional international schools in sports, academic events such as Model UN and Spelling Bee, and fine arts festivals. The school moved to its current modern campus in Oryong-dong in August 2012, featuring a gymnasium, library, computer lab, and outdoor sports areas. Extracurricular activities include dance, drama, and orchestra programs. Students in Grades 11-12 demonstrating scholarship, leadership, service, and character may be inducted into the KFS National Honor Society chapter.
