Kolkata International School

Kolkata International School (KIS), also known as the German School Kolkata (Deutsche Schule Kalkutta), is one of Kolkata's most distinguished international institutions, offering a bilingual German-English education alongside internationally recognized Cambridge IGCSE and IB programmes. Located in the upscale Ballygunge neighborhood of South Kolkata, the school has a rich history of providing quality international education to the expatriate and cosmopolitan community in Kolkata. KIS serves students from Nursery through Grade 12, offering a unique bilingual curriculum that develops students who are fluent in both German and English while attaining globally recognized academic qualifications. The school is authorized by the IB Organization and Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE), and maintains close ties with German educational authorities. The school's intimate size allows for a highly personalized educational experience, with small class sizes and dedicated teachers who know each student well. The Ballygunge campus features well-appointed classrooms, laboratories, a library, sports facilities, and cultural activity spaces. KIS's multicultural student body and bilingual curriculum create exceptional opportunities for language acquisition, cross-cultural understanding, and global citizenship. Graduates are well-prepared for universities in Germany, the UK, USA, India, and elsewhere.
