Instituto Porto Alegre - IPA Metodista

Instituto Porto Alegre (IPA) Metodista is one of the most traditional educational institutions in Rio Grande do Sul, founded by American Methodist missionaries in the 19th century as part of their educational mission in southern Brazil. As a Methodist institution, IPA combines strong academic preparation with Protestant Christian values, ethical formation, and social responsibility. The school offers comprehensive education from early childhood through secondary education in the Rio Branco neighborhood of Porto Alegre. IPA is known for its long history of academic excellence, dedicated faculty, and a welcoming community environment. The institution serves students from diverse backgrounds and faiths, maintaining a tradition of inclusive education while preserving its Methodist heritage and commitment to transformative education. IPA's approach emphasizes the development of the whole student—intellectually, spiritually, and socially—preparing graduates who are both academically capable and ethically grounded for careers and university studies.
