Horizon Japan International School Sendai

Horizon Japan International School Sendai Campus is an international kindergarten and primary school in Izumi Ward, Sendai, surrounded by the rich natural environment of northern Miyagi Prefecture. The Sendai Campus opened in April 2012 as part of the established Horizon Japan International School network originally based in Yokohama. The school implements a curriculum based on the UK Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework for its ELC program serving children from age 3 through Kindergarten, enriched with inquiry-based learning and the IB Primary Years Programme for primary school students through approximately age 12. Horizon Sendai educational philosophy prioritizes nurturing children as natural English language acquirers through daily immersion in an English-speaking environment, allowing each child individual interests and passions to flourish naturally. The school develops global citizens who are confident, curious, and caring. Horizon Sendai operates a bus service network within Sendai City to support families across the metropolitan area. The school draws both expatriate families and Japanese families seeking quality early English education in the Tohoku region. An Aoba campus also serves the central Sendai area, extending the school reach across the city.
