German International School of Silicon Valley

The German International School of Silicon Valley (GISSV), founded in 1977, is the premier German-language international school serving the San Francisco Bay Area. Located in Mountain View at the heart of Silicon Valley, GISSV serves students from preschool through grade 12 offering a comprehensive bilingual German-English education leading to the German Abitur and the IB Diploma Programme. The school serves the significant German-speaking community in Silicon Valley — home to many German technology professionals and executives — while also welcoming families seeking a world-class bilingual international education. GISSV is accredited by the German Ministry of Education (KMK) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). The curriculum follows German federal educational standards while integrating strong English language instruction and American studies. GISSV maintains a second campus in San Francisco. Graduates gain seamless access to universities in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and across the English-speaking world.
