German International School Accra

German International School Accra (Deutsche Internationale Schule Accra) is the official German school in Ghana's capital, serving German-speaking families and the broader international community from toddler age (1 year) through to 18 years. The school delivers instruction primarily in German and English, following the Thuringian State curriculum of Germany alongside the Cambridge International Programme, giving students access to both German school leaving qualifications and internationally recognised Cambridge credentials. The school serves the children of German diplomatic staff, German business professionals, European NGO workers, and German-speaking families from across Europe and Africa. The bilingual German-English educational approach develops strong multilingual capabilities and intercultural awareness. Facilities include modern classrooms, science resources, a library, and sports areas. The school's Cantonments location places it near Accra's diplomatic enclave and the embassies of numerous European countries. German International School Accra maintains close ties with Germany's educational authorities and the Federal Foreign Office's Schools Abroad network, ensuring pedagogical standards are equivalent to schools in Germany. The school's dual German/Cambridge curriculum provides broad university pathway options across Europe and the English-speaking world.
