French American International School - Maternelle

French American International School recognizes that the foundation of any good education is a strong and supportive community. As San Francisco’s oldest and largest bilingual school, French American has a history of preparing its graduates to encounter a world that requires the ability to think and communicate cross-culturally. In France, Maternelle refers to early learning centers. French American’s Maternelle is a bilingual immersion environment for children from age 3 to Kindergarten. By exposing children to a bilingual environment at such a young age, French American makes the most of the adolescent brain’s high capacity for language acquisition. Students will participate in classes that are in French from 80-90% of the time.
