The Franconian International School (FIS) is an IB World School located in Erlangen, at the heart of the greater Nuremberg–Erlangen metropolitan area in Bavaria, Germany. Founded to serve the region's significant international population — including families from global companies such as Siemens, Adidas, Puma, and Schaeffler — FIS provides a values-driven, inquiry-based education for students aged 3 to 18. As an authorised IB World School, FIS offers the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), and IB Diploma Programme (DP), all delivered in English. Students from over 40 nationalities thrive in FIS's caring, inclusive community, which emphasises academic rigour alongside character development, intercultural understanding, and lifelong learning. The school maintains high expectations and rigorous educational standards, ensuring graduates are well-prepared for university study in Germany and internationally. FIS is accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and is a member of the European Council of International Schools (ECIS). A respected choice for international families across the Nuremberg region.
