Flint Hill School

Flint Hill School, founded in 1956, is a leading independent co-educational day school in Oakton, Virginia, serving Pre-K through Grade 12. The school enrolls approximately 1,000 students across two campuses in the Fairfax County area and is accredited by VAIS and the Middle States Association. Flint Hill offers both Advanced Placement courses and the IB Diploma Programme, making it one of a select few Northern Virginia schools offering dual academic pathways for college preparation. The school is known for its strong STEM programme, award-winning arts, and competitive athletics. Flint Hill's location in Fairfax County — home to many federal government employees, contractors, and international professionals — means its student body is characterised by exceptional diversity and global awareness. Graduates attend Ivy League, military academies, and top universities nationwide. The school's challenging academic programme, supportive community, and emphasis on leadership development distinguish it among Northern Virginia's private schools.
