Finnish International School of Tampere

The Finnish International School of Tampere (FISTA) is a well-regarded city-run international school in central Tampere, Finland's third-largest city. FISTA offers preschool education and comprehensive basic education for students in grades 1–9, with English as the primary language of instruction. The school follows the City of Tampere's curriculum, based on the Finnish National Core Curriculum, ensuring students receive a Finnish educational foundation delivered in an international context. With approximately 910 students and 110 staff members, FISTA is one of Finland's largest international school communities. Applicants are assessed through a language test to ensure readiness for English-language education. FISTA serves families living in the Tampere region and is particularly attractive to expatriate and internationally mobile families. The school started as Amurin kansakoulu in 1954 and has grown to become a vibrant, multicultural institution in the heart of Finland.
