European School Munich
Munich, Germany
The European School Munich (ES Munich), established in 1977, is one of fourteen accredited European Schools, a network of schools funded by the European Union to educate the children of EU civil servants and other European families across Europe. Located in the Ramersdorf-Perlach district of Munich, the school educates approximately 3,000 students from Nursery through to the secondary cycle (ages 4 to 18), offering instruction in multiple European languages — English, French, German, Italian, and others — with students taught in their mother tongue and receiving thorough instruction in additional European languages. The school prepares students for the European Baccalaureate (EB), a rigorous multilingual qualification recognised across Europe and worldwide for university entry. European Schools are accredited by the Intergovernmental Board of Governors and inspected by teams drawn from member states' educational authorities. ES Munich's uniquely multilingual, multicultural environment — reflecting the diversity of the European Union — creates graduates who are genuinely European in outlook, fluent in multiple languages, and well-prepared for the demands of contemporary global universities and careers.
