Escola Vivendo e Aprendendo

Escola Vivendo e Aprendendo is a pioneering cooperative educational association in Asa Norte, Brasília, where children play and adults learn together. Founded in 1982, the school is governed as a democratic, horizontally managed association of families and educators, making it one of Brazil's most distinctive and innovative educational communities. Offering Educação Infantil and Ensino Fundamental Anos Iniciais for children aged 2 to 12, the school emphasizes child-centered learning, autonomy, creativity, and the preservation of childhood through play-based pedagogy. Set within a large green campus with colorful houses, gardens, workshops, and communal kitchen spaces, the learning environment itself is deeply integrated with nature and community life.
