Dexter Southfield School

Dexter Southfield School, formed in 2010 through the merger of the all-boys Dexter School (founded 1926) and the all-girls Southfield School (founded 1947), is a leading co-educational independent day school in Brookline, Massachusetts, serving Pre-K through Grade 12. The school enrolls approximately 750 students across two campuses and is accredited by NEASC. Dexter Southfield offers a rigorous college-preparatory curriculum, with AP courses and a strong emphasis on athletics, the arts, and character development. The school's Brookline location — adjacent to Boston and served by the MBTA — makes it highly accessible to families throughout the greater Boston area. Its athletic tradition is exceptional, with numerous state championship teams. Graduates attend selective universities including Boston College, Colby, Middlebury, and Ivy League institutions. The school's longstanding tradition of developing confident, compassionate leaders through a balanced education distinguishes it within Boston's competitive independent school market.
