Colégio Militar de Porto Alegre

Colégio Militar de Porto Alegre (CMPA) is a prestigious federal military school under the Brazilian Army's Colégio Militares system, offering free high-quality education to children of military personnel and, through competitive entrance exams, to civilians. Founded in 1912, CMPA is one of Brazil's most competitive and respected secondary schools, consistently achieving top ENEM scores in Rio Grande do Sul. The school provides Ensino Fundamental II and Ensino Médio with a rigorous academic curriculum combined with military discipline, physical education, and civic values. Students at CMPA benefit from excellent facilities, experienced federal teachers, and a structured environment that develops discipline, leadership, and academic excellence. Entry to CMPA is highly competitive, with thousands of candidates vying for limited spots through the annual Concurso de Admissão. The school is a source of great pride for Porto Alegre and has produced many notable leaders in the military, sciences, and public service.
