Colégio Brasil Japão Professor Shinoda

Nagoya, Japan

Colégio Brasil Japão Professor Shinoda is a Brazilian curriculum international school serving the large Brazilian-Japanese (Nikkei) community in the Nagoya and greater Aichi region of Japan. The school follows the Brazilian national curriculum, enabling children of Brazilian expatriates and Nikkei families to maintain their Brazilian academic credentials and Portuguese language proficiency. Named after Professor Shinoda, a respected figure in the Brazil-Japan educational community, the school bridges two rich cultures: Japanese and Brazilian. The school operates within Japan's significant Brazilian diaspora community, one of the largest concentrations of Brazilian nationals outside Brazil. Students receive instruction in Portuguese while also learning Japanese language and culture. The program prepares students for re-integration into the Brazilian education system upon return, or for continued academic progress in Japan. The school reflects the deep historical and cultural ties between Brazil and Japan established since the early 20th century through Japanese immigration to Brazil and subsequent return migration.
