Chinese American International School - Lower School Campus

By following the guidelines of the American Council on Teaching of Foreign Languages, Chinese American International School has crafted an excellent Chinese Language Immersion program. As evidence, 67% of its 8th grade students have met the benchmark to teach Mandarin. CAIS is accredited by the WASC and the California Association of Independent Schools. For Lower School students, the immersion program operates on a 50/50 basis, alternating between Mandarin and English days. Each class has one lead English teacher and Mandarin teacher with 1-2 teaching associates. The consistency of this approach ensures that students can maximize the cognitive benefits of a bilingual brain while learning in an intuitive manner.
