Calgary French & International School

Calgary French & International School (CFIS), founded in 1966, is one of Canada's leading French immersion independent schools, offering an intensive French-English bilingual education for students from Preschool through Grade 12. Located in southwest Calgary, CFIS serves approximately 800 students and is accredited by CAIS and the Alberta Government. The school offers the full Alberta curriculum delivered primarily in French in the junior years, transitioning to an IB Diploma Programme at the senior level with French and English as languages of instruction. CFIS is the school of choice for French-Canadian families in Calgary as well as for international families seeking bilingual French-English education in Alberta. The school's strong cultural programming, including trips to French-speaking Canada and France, ensures authentic linguistic and cultural fluency. Graduates are admitted to the University of Calgary, McGill, Université de Montréal, and leading universities in France. CFIS's bilingual graduates have a significant advantage in Canada's increasingly francophone-friendly job market.
