British School in the Netherlands
The Hague, Netherlands
The British School in the Netherlands (BSN), founded in 1931, is one of the largest and most well-established British curriculum international schools in Europe, with four campuses serving over 2,700 students aged 3 to 18. As the oldest international school in the Netherlands, BSN has a distinguished history of educating the children of diplomatic and business families in The Hague and the surrounding region. The school follows the English National Curriculum through to IGCSE and A-Level qualifications, and is accredited by the Council of British International Schools (COBIS) and inspected by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI). The Hague's unique status as the seat of the Dutch government and home to numerous international organisations — including the International Court of Justice, the International Criminal Court, and various UN agencies — creates an exceptionally international community from which BSN draws its students. BSN is particularly renowned for its warm, caring community ethos, excellent pastoral care, and consistently strong academic results at IGCSE and A-Level. Graduates gain entry to leading UK and international universities.
