Bisschoppelijk College Suriname

Bisschoppelijk College is one of Suriname's most distinguished Catholic secondary schools, located in Paramaribo, the capital city of the South American nation of Suriname. Founded under the Roman Catholic Church's educational mission in Suriname, the school provides secondary education following the Dutch-Surinamese curriculum, a legacy of Suriname's colonial history as a former Dutch territory. Bisschoppelijk College (Episcopal College) offers a rigorous academic program leading to national secondary examinations (NATIN, HAVO-equivalent) and has historically been associated with Suriname's intellectual and professional class. Located in Paramaribo, one of South America's most uniquely multicultural cities — home to Creole, Javanese, Hindustani, Chinese, Maroon, and Amerindian communities — the school serves a diverse student body. The school's Catholic educational values, experienced faculty, and strong academic traditions make Bisschoppelijk College a respected institution in Suriname's secondary school landscape.
