Berlin International School

Berlin International School (BIS) is a co-educational international day school in the Dahlem district of Berlin, founded in 1998. Offering the IB Primary Years Programme, Middle Years Programme, and IB Diploma for students aged 3 to 18, BIS is authorised by the IBO and accredited by CIS. Dahlem — Berlin's 'academic village' — is home to Freie Universität Berlin, multiple Max Planck institutes, and a cluster of museum complexes, providing an unmatched intellectual and cultural backdrop for school life. BIS serves an international community of over 50 nationalities, drawing from Berlin's diplomatic, academic, and tech sectors. The school is known for its warm, family-oriented community and strong pastoral care. Its programme combines IB academic rigour with a genuine commitment to German language development and cultural integration. BIS achieves strong IB results and provides excellent university counselling. The school's location in one of Berlin's most elegant and green residential areas, with excellent public transport links to the city centre, makes it highly convenient for families across southwest Berlin.
