Ashgabat International School

Ashgabat International School (AIS) is the only accredited international school in Turkmenistan, operating under the globally respected Quality Schools International (QSI) network. Located in the Berzengi area of Ashgabat, AIS offers an American-based education programme from Preschool through Secondary School (ages 3-18) to the children of diplomats, expatriates, and international professionals living in Turkmenistan. With students representing over 29 different nationalities, AIS creates a richly multicultural learning environment. The school's academic philosophy is grounded in QSI's Mastery Learning model, which ensures that students achieve genuine competency in each skill before advancing. QSI's eight Success Orientations — Trustworthiness, Kindness & Consideration, Quality Schoolwork, Problem Solving, Independent Thinker, Creativity, Enthusiasm for Learning, and Self Discipline — provide the ethical and character framework underlying the school's holistic approach to education. The school's curriculum includes Advanced Placement (AP) courses at the Secondary level, preparing students for university admission worldwide. AIS's experienced international faculty deliver instruction entirely in English, with programmes designed to support international families through the transient nature of expatriate life. The school provides comprehensive support for new arrivals to Ashgabat, making AIS the first choice for internationally mobile families in Turkmenistan.
