Amersfoort International School

International School Utrecht (ISU) is a well-regarded international school serving the greater Utrecht region, the geographic heart of the Netherlands. Located near Amersfoort and Utrecht — both rapidly growing as business and tech hubs between Amsterdam and Eindhoven — ISU offers IB-aligned international education for students aged 4 to 18. The school serves the international community of Utrecht's thriving pharmaceutical, technology, and financial services sectors — including major employers such as Rabobank, Altice, and Eneco. ISU provides a warm, inclusive environment with strong pastoral care and dedicated EAL support for newly arrived international families. The school offers the IB Primary Years Programme and Middle Years Programme, with students transitioning to IB Diploma schools in the region for the final two years. Dutch language instruction is a priority, supporting students' integration into Dutch life. Utrecht's extraordinary quality of life — with its medieval canal city, cycling culture, Domtoren, and vibrant university atmosphere — makes it one of the Netherlands' most desirable cities for international families.
