American Overseas School of Rome

American Overseas School of Rome (AOSR) is a leading American-curriculum international school in Rome, founded in 1947 on a beautiful 11-acre campus on the Via Cassia in northern Rome. Educating students from Pre-K through Grade 12 (ages 4 to 18), AOSR offers the US college preparatory curriculum leading to the American High School Diploma alongside AP courses and the IB Diploma. Accredited by Middle States Association, CIS, and NEASC, AOSR has an extraordinary history of serving Rome's American diplomatic, military, business, and academic communities. The school's green campus features sports fields, a gymnasium, swimming pool, science labs, and performing arts spaces. AOSR is particularly noted for its strong academic programme, diverse community of over 50 nationalities, and deep connection to the US Embassy and NATO communities in Rome. Italian language instruction and Roman cultural excursions are integral to AOSR's educational programme. Graduates consistently gain admission to Ivy League, US, UK, and Italian universities. AOSR's rich history, warm community, and extraordinary Roman setting make it one of Italy's most celebrated international schools.
