American International School of Costa Rica

American International School of Costa Rica is a private international school in Ciudad Cariari, Heredia, serving students from preschool through grade 12 in an English-rich environment. On its official site, AIS highlights that it has more native English-speaking teachers than any other U.S. diploma school in the country and pairs that with a notably strong student to teacher ratio, allowing for personalized attention across the school. The school presents technology integration and 21st century literacies as part of everyday learning rather than an add-on, supporting academic growth alongside communication, collaboration, and digital fluency. Official admissions and school materials position AIS as an international family with a broad student community and an American-style college preparatory pathway. For families seeking an established English-language school in the Greater San José area, AIS stands out for its U.S. diploma structure, individualized support, and its explicit focus on helping students build confidence, academic strength, and global readiness from the early years through secondary school.
