Academia Cotopaxi American International School

Academia Cotopaxi, founded in 1959, is Quito's leading American international school, originally established to serve the US diplomatic and expatriate community. Located on its Monteserrín campus, the school welcomes students from 12 months of age through grade 12, following a US standards-based curriculum enriched with International Baccalaureate programmes. Cotopaxi made history as the first school in Ecuador to offer the IB Diploma Programme (1982) and the IB Primary Years Programme (2005). Governed by a nine-member Board of Trustees with US Embassy representation, the school holds SACS accreditation and hosts a vibrant international community from over 30 nationalities.
